Tree Felling Specialists

Durban-based Swift Tree Felling has over 20 years' experience in the art of tree felling, with professional services that cater for private, corporate and municipal clients in the greater Durban area and beyond. We specialise in felling of trees in confined areas, harvesting, trimming, pollarding (topping), once off cut backs and clean ups, winter cut backs, de-stumping, cartage and invading alien eradication.

We offer a consultation before quoting, so that we can ascertain your requirements and make sure that the money spent in the short term does not have to be duplicated in the future. We have our own truck with detachable bins that allow us to fill the bins as we cut, keeping the site clear of debris and preventing the buildup of unsightly refuse awaiting collection.

Exceptional Service

Tree Felling

We are experts when it comes to the felling of trees in confined areas, which requires a great deal of skill and experience. We have successfully felled many large trees in confined areas by using different roping and cutting techniques.

Tree Trimming

We also specialise in tree trimming, since trees require routine maintenance, especially in gardens where the full cycle of nature is not left long enough to be achieved. Regular trimming maintains a balance of aesthetics and size, which keeps them in harmony with the surrounding landscape.

We also do pollarding, which is the practice of trimming and topping a tree to make it safe and enabling trees to reach maturity in a space too small for their natural size to be achieved without causing damage or becoming dangerous.

We Offer

Once Off Clean Ups & General Cutbacks

This is normally done every two to three years when the bushes and trees have become too large for you to maintain yourself or when moving into a new house where the garden has not been maintained.

Winter Cutbacks

This should be done just before spring, to prepare the plants/trees for their spring growth. In Durban, we tend to often cut back earlier to enable the winter sun to warm up our houses.

De-stumping is normally required when building or tarring over the area is to be done. Otherwise poisoning is sufficient in most circumstances. We use two methods of de-stumping:

Digging out – either by hand or mechanically by means of a pay loader/back actor, or
Stump grinding – this is normally the cheaper and less disruptive method.

Invading Alien Eradication

This is the removal of exotic invading plants or trees. Their seeds are spread by the wind or birds and germinate easily and grow faster than the indigenous plants, thus stealing the nutrients and preventing sun on the slower growing indigenous plants. They also do not have any natural enemies, enabling them to flourish at the expense of our indigenous plants and wild life.
